1   Minor Update NOTES

Before you minor update (ex. from 0.3.0 to 0.4.0) TRICHORD with Update Manager ("Help" -> "Update TRICHORD" menu), please do the following setting beforehand.

  1. Launch TRICHORD.
  2. Select "Window" -> "Preferences..." menu to open "Preferences" dialog.
  3. Select "Install/Update" -> "Valid updates" -> "compatible".
  4. Press "OK" button to close "Preferences" dialog.

2   We want to share a workspace for team members.

Q:How do we share our TRICHORD workspace?
A:You can share the workspace in your team by UNC path notaion(\\networkpath\drive).

3   I can't use my workspace when there is it in shared folder.

Q:There is my workspace in our shared folder. I select my workspace on TRIHCORD, but TRICHORD can't show our workspace's data.
A:You may authorize in your shared folder before using TRICHORD.Please try to open shared folder by Windows Explorer, and use TRICHORD.

4   About locking of the data files.

Q:I hear that TRICHORD store the data to XML file storage. How does TRICHORD lock the data file?
A:TRICHORD doesn't lock the data file when it's saving. TRICHORD uses a mechanism of cheking file modification instead of locking data file.

5   We want to use TRICHORD on Windows 2000

Q:How do we use TRICHORD on Windows 2000?
A:TRICHORD is not supported for Windows 2000 yet. But you can use it by the following steps.
  1. Download GDI+ from Microsoft .
  2. Execute and extract gdiplus_dnld.exe .
  3. Copy gdiplus.dll to Your system directory(ex: C:/WINDOWS/system32).
  4. Execute TRICHORD

6   Updating TRICHORD

Perform the following steps to check if there is an update for TRICHORD (this procedure requires Internet access):

  1. Click Help and then Update TRICHORD. This connects you to a TRICHORD-related website and detects upgrades available to the version of TRICHORD you are currently using. Possible upgrades are displayed on the next page.
  2. Select the features you want to upgrade and then click Next.
  3. Carefully study the license agreement displayed when upgrading. To accept the terms of license agreement, select I accept the terms in the license agreement check box. If not, do not download the upgrade.
  4. Click Install to begin the downloading and installation process.
  5. When all features and plug-ins are normally downloaded and these files are installed in TRICHORD, a new configuration is formed to load these features and plug-ins. To validate the changed content, a window appears asking you to either quit or restart TRICHORD; click Yes.
